The launch is a U.S. SPF 30 product in 15 shades

Beauty of Joseon lists Tinted Mineral Dayscreen SPF 30 at $20 on its U.S. store. It uses zinc oxide filters and pigments, with 15 shades spanning depth and undertone.

A familiar K-beauty brand name does not make every regional formula interchangeable. Confirm the market, ingredient list, and shade-return policy before importing it.

The 12-hour study measured cosmetic coverage

The brand says a 21-person study evaluated the visual appearance of evenness and pores for up to 12 hours. It does not show that pores shrink or that UV protection lasts for 12 hours.

The SPF direction still says at least every two hours

The official directions say to apply generously and evenly, then reapply at least every two hours. Tint remaining on the skin is not proof that protection remains unchanged.

For swimming or heavy sweating, verify water-resistance directions separately and combine sunscreen with shade, hats, and protective clothing.

Test the face-to-neck transition, not just a swatch chart

Women's Health found useful variation across the 15 shades, but one review cannot represent every undertone and skin texture. If possible, test near the jaw and inspect the transition in natural light.

Small safety studies are not a universal guarantee

The official page cites a 21-person non-comedogenic study and a 51-person hypoallergenic study. Those are limited results, not acne treatment or a promise that every sensitive user will tolerate the formula. Stop use if irritation appears.

One last check

Five checks before choosing a shade

  1. 01

Do not assume this U.S. SPF 30 product is identical to a Beauty of Joseon sunscreen sold in another market.

  2. 02

Match undertone as well as depth across the 15-shade range.

  3. 03

Do not reduce the amount simply because the pigment looks opaque.

  4. 04

Follow the brand's instruction to reapply at least every two hours and check water-resistance needs separately.

  5. 05

Patch-test and check texture over moisturizer, especially on dry or reactive skin.

Checked July 30, 2026 against the official U.S. product page and independent hands-on coverage. The up-to-12-hour statement refers to a 21-person visual study of complexion and pore appearance, not 12 hours of sun protection. Non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic studies do not guarantee zero reaction for every user. Korean retail availability was not confirmed.
