Goody King Magnetic Cubes Recall: Check the Model and Claim a Refund

This is a U.S. recall of specific magnetic cube sets

On August 13, 2026, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of about 213,500 Goody King magnetic building cube and block sets. The recall number is 26-686. The covered sets were sold on Amazon.com from January 2024 through July 2026 for $17 to $50.

That scope does not establish that every magnetic block or every Goody King product is recalled worldwide. Stop using a potentially affected set first, then compare the model number on the back of the packaging and the official product photos in the CPSC notice.

The model number on the packaging is the deciding check

Theme names and piece counts can help you find the packaging, but the model number is the practical identifier. The codes below are the complete list published by CPSC and the company. Do not add a similar-looking code or rely on color alone.

If the packaging is missing, do not identify the set from appearance alone. Collect the order number, seller details, and clear product photos and ask safety@goodyking.com. The hazard begins when a cube breaks or opens

CPSC says the recalled cubes can break or open and release loose high-powered magnets. If two or more magnets are swallowed, they can attract through intestinal tissue and cause perforations, twisting, blockage, infection, blood poisoning, or death.

The recall notice says the company received at least 27 reports of cubes breaking or opening and reported that two children required surgery after ingesting magnets. Those are company-reported counts carried in the CPSC notice and AP coverage. If ingestion has happened or is suspected, do not wait for symptoms or a recall response—seek emergency medical care immediately.

Stop use first and preserve the set for the return

Even when the cubes look intact, stop using a listed model and place every cube and loose piece in a closed container beyond children's reach. Do not twist or pry a cube open to test it, and make sure a small loose part is not left in the play area.

The company requires the physical product for the refund, so do not discard or deliberately destroy it. Do not resell or donate the set. Keep the registration confirmation and, once issued, the prepaid-return tracking number.

The refund follows registration, verification, and physical return

Register your contact, model, and purchase details through the company recall page. After verification, the company says it will provide a prepaid return label. Pack and return the physical set as instructed; the company says a destruction photo is not accepted instead of the return.

The company says a receipt is not required. It describes a refund based on the purchase amount when a receipt is available or on the model when it is not, including sales tax. It also says an original-payment reversal or PayPal refund is processed in 5 to 7 business days after the returned product is received and verified. Treat that as the company's stated process, not a guaranteed payment date.

1. Register the contact, model number, and purchase details on the official page.
2. Wait for the company's eligibility response and prepaid return label.
3. Keep the set intact and pack the physical product as directed.
4. Use the provided tracked label and retain the acceptance and delivery records.
5. After receipt and inspection, monitor the refund method and status.

Cross-border buyers should confirm eligibility instead of assuming

The CPSC notice describes U.S. Amazon.com sales. It does not confirm a national recall in every other country or international prepaid-return service. If the set was forwarded or resold, keep the purchase country, original seller, order ID, model number, and packaging photos together.

A listed model should still be removed from use while you check, but do not assume that a non-U.S. address is either included or excluded from the refund. Ask safety@goodyking.com whether the sales channel and location qualify, and retain the written response with the claim record.
